Make Health a Priority

Did you know 50 percent of all health care outcomes are tied to behaviors?  Simple lifestyle choices can have an enormous impact on your health and quality of life.  Make wise health decisions.

  1. Choose to be active.
    Aim for at least 30 minutes of brisk exercise every day.  This will help you maintain a healthy weight and lower your risk for heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and some types of cancers.
  2. Choose to eat right.
    An eating plan centered around fruits, vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products can lower cholesterol and help control blood pressure and blood sugar.
  3. Choose to be tobacco free.
    Quit if you smoke.  Stay away from second hand smoke and avoid all tobacco products including smokeless tobacco.  Smoking is the No. 1 cause of preventable death and increases the risk for not only lung cancer but cancers in many organs in the body.
  4. Choose to Take Charge. Live Well!
    Do what you need to do to maintain or improve your health and enjoy life in the most vibrant way possible.
